Raymond Evison Clematis 'Guernsey Flute'

A truly spectacular sight when wreathed in blooms, 'Guernsey Flute' is a variety everybody should know about. Its large (up to 15cm across) flowers are snow white in appearance with delicate, red-tipped anthers, and dress the plant from top to bottom.
One of the great things about this variety is just how long it holds its flowers on the plant for; there's nothing more frustrating than enjoying a plant's flowers only for them to disappear just as quickly. With 'Guernsey Flute'? Not a problem.
Blooming profusely in late spring or early summer, this variety also reliably sports a second flush of its fabulous flowers at the start of autumn. Before maturing fully, the blooms typically hold a goblet or flute-like shape (hence the name).
Compact in nature, growing to just over one metre in height, 'Guernsey Flute' is an excellent option for patio containers, where it will look lovely twining its way around a decorative obelisk.
Easygoing and fully hardy, this variety will reward you with years of service for very little in return, needing just a small prune each year (clematis pruning group 2).
